George Garner

Email: george.garner@researchcapital.com
Executive Vice President, National Sales Manager - Private Client Division
Since 2006, George has overseen the 160 advisors that make up Research Capital's Private Client division. Every day, entrepreneurs, small businesses and average people come to him and his team for investment advice, portfolio management and sources of capital. His advisors are here to provide his clients with individual attention and customized solutions and George is there to keep his eye on the big picture. His 23 years of experience in Canada's financial field make him the perfect person for the job. George began his career in 1984 at a small investment firm that was eventually bought by Royal Bank of Canada. Since then, he's worked his way up the ranks of bank-owned firms, including a position as a regional manager for Nesbitt Burns and six years as the head of the brokerage arm of Scotia McLeod, where he was in charge of over 900 advisors. George joined RCC because he believes that the realities of small and medium sized business in Canada aren't reflected in the one-size-fits-all approach to entrepreneurship taken by bank-owned brokerages. "I'm a small town boy," says George, who was born in Oles, B.C. and now lives outside Burlington, Ontario with his wife and three daughters. "You can't always take Toronto standards across the country." He wants to make his big business experience work for you.
